Linda was born on October 3, 1952 in Denver Colorado to John Berry Cooper of Coffeeville, Alabama and Masako Fukushima of Alchi-ken, Japan.
In 1957, the family moved to Leavenworth, Kansas where she was raised and completed her education, graduating from Leavenworth Senior High School in 1970. She later attended Kansas State University for one year before beginning her career with Hallmark Cards. Years later, she joined the U.S. Postal Service, where she served in management until her retirement in 2014.
Linda was united in marriage to Leon Manning of Kansas City, Kansas and from this union, two children were born; daughter LaTia Manning and son Landon Manning.
She had a deep love for shopping and gardening, especially planting flowers. Shopping with Linda win an adventure, where she would spend hours visiting store after store without tiring. Her generous spirit was evident throughout her life, culminating in her final act of kindness as an organ doner, through which her kidneys saved the Iife of two women.
Linda was a devoted fan of Kansas City sports, especially the Chiefs and the Royals. Her faith journey began at Independent Baptist Church in Leavenworth, Kansas, continued at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas and later became a member of Paseo Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leon Manning; and half-sister, Brenda Jackson of Mobile, Alabama.
Linda leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, LaTia Manning of Kansas City, Kansas; her son, Landon Manning of Overland Park, Kansas; her brother, John Cooper (Alesia) of Las Vegas, Nevada; her half-brothers, Everett Cole (LaBrentha) of Flint, Michigan; her niece. Tyra Poole (Curtese) of Westerville, Ohio; her cousins, Nya Poole of Miami, Florida and Kayla Poole of Cincinnati, Ohio; along with a host of other relatives and close friends.
