LeRita E. Moten, 85, passed away on June 26, 2025, at Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. LeRita was born on December 4, 1939, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Leonard Moten and Helyn E. (Brown) Moten.
LeRita grew up in Kansas City, KS. She graduated from Sumner High School in Kansas City, KS, in ’58. LeRita went on to receive her cosmetology license upon graduation, as a trade.
LeRita began working at St. Luke’s Hospital as a nurse aide and retired in 1995.
LeRita was involved in various charities and organizations, such as Foster Grandparents of Wyco, Mary F. Handy Women's Missionary, and the Bonding Circle.
LeRita was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Moten, and her mother, Helyn.
LeRita is survived by her son Jeffery A Williams (Anita); daughters Elisa J. Gray, and LeRita J. Williams/Hathaway (Lord); grandchildren, Tarajah I. Williams, Jihad M. Williams, Lanekia S. Gray, Desmond M. Gray, Elisha C. Gray, Derric J Williams, Enoch Clark III, Ambrosha J. Williams, Mylinda Hathaway, and Huron Hathaway; great-grandchildren, Desmon Williams, Desean Williams, Jadon Williams, Bella Williams, Enoch Clark IV, Elijah J. Clark, Gannon Paul Mack III, Giovanni Alexander Mack, Gabriel Arturo Mack, and Grayson Kobe Mack; siblings, Linda Moten-Tyler, Greigory Moten, Reggie Moten, Ibtihaj I Salaam, and Sherri Moten; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other family and friends.
