Life’s Reflection

Mrs. Laura Ann Owens, 89, passed away March 21, 2022, at Delaware Highlands Assisted Living in Kansas City, Kansas.  She was born on December 22, 1932, in Ben Lomond, Arkansas to Surrie Simpson and Marie Boyd.  Laura grew up in Ben Lomond.  She graduated from Little River County School in Ben Lomond, Arkansas.

She began working for St. Margaret’s Hospital and Providence Hospital as a Dietary Tech where she worked for many years. Later retiring in 1996.

Mrs. Laura Ann Owens was involved in many church groups, Mission Vice President, Sunbeam Director, Guiding Star Usher board, and she also served at the food kitchen. As a member of Guiding Star, she enjoyed Decorating and Serving people.

Laura married Ed in 1953 in Arkansas. They were happily married for 60 years.   

Laura was preceded in death by both parents; and three brothers: Otis Brown, James Brown; Merry Brown; and one sister, Faye Hopkins.

Laura is survived by her brother, Howard Brown Sr. of Flint, Michigan, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
