Kenneth Stewart Obituary

Kenneth Leroy Stewart was born on October 10, 1955 in Kansas City Kansas to Sylvester H. Stewart and Mary K Price-Stewart.

Keneth was Christened as a baby at St. Luke's A.M.E. by the Late Rev. Dancy and later on he was baptized at Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the Late Rev. David L. Giay.

Kenneth graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1973. After HS he went on to attend The University of Kansas (KU) where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, and graduated in 1977. After greduating college he then joined the US Army in 1977 and attended the Fitzsimons Army Medical Center where his field of study was Pharmacy. During this time he did extensive travel and excelled in the service receiving many honors and awards.

Kenneth was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1983. Kenneth returned to Kansas City where he met and married Joyce White and together had one child (Kenneth Leroy Stewart Jr.) as a part of their union which was later dissolved. Kenneth served 32 years with The United States Postal Services (USPS) before retiring.

Kenneth had an infectious laugh that made him the life of the party, he loved being around his family and friends; he was the Uncle that all his nieces and nephews adored.

He was preceded in death by his father, one brother Stephen Stewart, one sister Diana M. Ford, nephew Cedric Thomas Sr., and niece Kayla J, Stewart.

Kenneth leaves to cherish his memories with: Mother - Mary K. Stewart-Peavy-Price(KCK), Son - Kenneth L. Stewart Jr. (Michigan), Brother's: Henry (Ursula) Stewart (Grandview, MO), Kevin L. Stewart (KCK), Anthony Stewart (KCMO), Thomas (Nettie) Stewart (Silver Springs, MD), Gregory Peavy (KCK), Arthur Peavy (Arkansas). Sister's: Sherieta (Damien) Lewis (Leavenworth, KS), Renee Peavy (NKC). Aunt's: Shirley Stewart, Martha Bolden and Vicky Coker. A Loving Friend Helen Harding (Atlanta, GA), Best Friend Gideon (his dog) and A host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
