Life Reflections
Kathleen was born on November 15, 1930, in Kansas City, Kansas to Edward and Dorothy (Jackson) Williams. She was the youngest of three daughters. She passed away at age 92 on May 6, 2023, at her home in Kansas City, KS.
Kathleen grew up in Kansas City, Kansas where she attended Sumner High School. After high school she married Alex Jones Sr. and to that union they had five children. They were happily married for 38 years.
Kathleen was highly active in her church, The Church of the Living God, in KCK, where she became a member at age 19. She held the positions of Usher Board President, Sunday School Teacher, and Superintendent of Sunday School for many years. She was also president of the Pastors Aid Committee. She remained dedicated to service throughout the majority of her life. Additionally, she volunteered her services at nursing facilities in the community.
Kathleen’s first job was at the Kresge Dime Store on Minnesota Ave. in KCK. She then worked at the Dwight Building as an elevator operator for several years. Later, she joined Hallmark Cards where she gave over 25 years of dedicated service as a production machine operator from 1969 until her retirement in 1995.
Kathleen was proceeded in death by her parents, Edward, and Dorothy Williams; her husband, Alex Jones Sr.; her sisters, Imogene Barnett, and Eddie Mae Cook.
Kathleen is survived by two sons and three daughters, Alexis Jones-Etier of Lenexa, Kansas; Anthony (Trudy) Jones Sr. of Kansas City, KS; Kathy (Rodney) Watson of Kansas City, KS; LaTanya (Robbie) Stubbings of Kansas City, KS; and Alex Jones Jr. of Kansas City, KS; many grandchildren, Anthony Jr., Antoine (deceased), Leon (deceased) and Jason Jones, Tamala (Dwaine) Cleaver, LaToya Etier, Renee (Joseph) Hunter, Rodney Jr., Reggie and RaAndra Watson; 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends.
