Karen Denise Hunter received her wings on December 24, 2020 at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. She was born on March 16, 1968 in Decatur, Illinois. Karen was baptized at the early age of 6, at Bible Temple Baptist Church. She attended Schlage High School then transferred to Job Corps where she obtained her certification as a Nurse’s Assistant. She continued to work as a Nurse’s Assistant until God called her home.
Karen married Michael Hunter in 1998 in Kansas City, Kansas. She had a strong passion for caring for her patients but an even stronger love for her family and friends.
Karen was preceded in death by her mother, Lela May Joyner and father, John B. Joyner.
Karen is survived by her spouse Michael Hunter of Kanas City, Kansas; her three sons, Victor (Angela); Dominique; and Michael Jr.; three daughters, LaMickael; Jessica; and Kayla; her two brothers, Ron (Cathy); Danny (Dorothy sister-in-love); her sisters, Brenda; and Tina; five other siblings; thirteen grandchildren; favored niece, India (Corey); two nephews, Danny Jr.; and Ron Jr.; a host of great nieces and nephews, family and friends.
