Her Story
Karen Lyn Forte was born March 25, 1959 in Kansas City, Kansas. She went to be with the Lord on February 11, 2020 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was the 5th child of 6 children. Karen joined Pleasant Green Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas at an early age. She was a God-fearing woman. She graduated from Sumner High School then later went on to culinary school to do what she enjoyed most; cooking “healthy”. She also enjoyed her family and doping puzzles, arts and crafts, listening to her music and many other things. She was a great spirited person with a good sense of humor. What a beautiful smile she had. She was very excited about the Kansas City Chief’s big win.
Karen is preceded in death by her mother, Mildred “Grandmother” Forte; her brothers, Terrell Forte, Dwight Forte and Kevin Claborn.
She leaves to cherish her memory her three children, Marlon Thomas, Cynthia Forte and Candace Clark, all of Kansas City; 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; her brother, Brenston Howell of Los Angeles, California; her sister, Muriel Forte of Kansas City and a host of family and friends.
