Life’s Reflections

Ms. Juanita Kane, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on March 31, 2023, at the age of 63. Juanita was born on July 15, 1959, to the union of George and Maxine Kane, Sr.  She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Maxine Kane, her sister, Teresa Kane, and her paternal and maternal grandparents.

Juanita accepted Christ at an early age, growing up in Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. LeRoy Kelly.  She most recently attended Showers of Blessings Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Rev. Edward and First Lady Halliburton.

Juanita was educated in the Kansas City, Kansas Public School District.

Juanita was always a hard worker and recently retired from Whole Foods Market, where she was a devoted employee and loved by many.  She loved to celebrate holidays and her favorite, was being Christmas.  Christmas was a major event at Juanita’s house and there was no shortage of food and a variety of endless desserts.  She welcomed all!  Family was always a priority in Juanita’s life and the love she had for her family was beyond measure. This love was especially poured out in the lives of her children Denise, Johnnie (Little Man), and Maurice.

Juanita was joined in Holy Matrimony to Plase Gladney in 1992.  This marriage later dissolved, but they remained family.

Juanita leaves to cherish her memories, daughter Denise Kane, sons Johnnie Williams and Maurice Williams; sisters Denise Kane, Rita Kane, Laura Dantzler (Ramon), and Joyce Burnett (Larry); brothers George Kane and Larry Kane, all of Kansas City, Kansas; grandchildren Christian Tilford, Jabrah Kane, Jaylin Merritt, Ja’Von Merritt, Krishell Ackells-Lee,  JaKell Williams, Kiara Williams, Johniece Williams, Jai’Asia Williams, Johnnai Williams, and SaSna Williams, all of the metro area; great-grandchildren Jazlyn Kane, Zaire Kane, and Aries Williams all of Kansas City, KS; aunts Christina Groves (Elmer) of Kansas City, Missouri and Rose Marie Hardridge of Kansas City, Kansas; uncle William Hardridge (Mary) of Muskogee, Oklahoma;  a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and dedicated friends Deborah Payne, Delores Gaines, and Patricia Sims.
