Joyce Jones Obituary

Joyce Ann Jones passed away on Wednesday, October 11 to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born July 21, 1952, in Warren, Arkansas to Robert and Onida McGhee.

Mrs. Jones was raised in Warren Arkansas, where she attended Warren High School the first integrated class in the town, graduating in 1971. She married Thomas Jones Jr on August 19, 1976, and relocated to Kansas City, Kansas. To this union, two children were born.

She was a faithful member of Christ Church of the Jesus Hour for over 30 years where she served as an Usher and a member of the Usher Board. She devotedly volunteered for the vacation bible school held each summer for the children of the community.

She was a homemaker while the children were in their formative years and then worked as a laborer to buy the extras that she wanted in her life. After retirement, she assisted in raising her grandchildren. She loved old TV shows, especially Westerns along with attending church, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She proceeded in death her parents, husband Thomas Jones Jr., brother Lee Edward McGhee, and Robert McGhee.  She leaves to cherish her memory: children Angela (Jerald) Daniels and Thomas (Jamie) Jones. Grandchildren Jacqun Jones, Paris, Jerald Jr, and Jaylen Daniels (Angela), and Te’Rayia, Karmya, and Wynter Jones (Thomas). Brothers James and John, sisters Betty and Nancy, and many other relatives and friends.
