Josephine Luella Maudeva Campbell Brown was born October 24, 1928 and earned her wings on October 5, 2023. Josephine was born in Helena, Arkansas to Floyd Campbell and Luvenia Norment. Josephine was lovingly raised by her stepfather Edward McDaniel.
Josephine later moved to Kansas City, Kansas and joined Eighth Street Baptist Church and was member for almost 70 years. She met and married Harold Brown on Christmas Day, December 25, 1950. They were married for 69 beautiful years until Harold, Sr. transitioned into heaven in 2019. This union produced four children. Josephine had an infectious spirit and many strengths. She was a Queen of stature, elegance, strength, and grace. She insisted that to respect others, you must respect yourself.
Josephine leaves to cherish her memory, her four children, Harold Jr. (Cheryl) Brown, Venessa Brown, Adoria Brown-Wilson, Angela (Gordon) Brown; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson; and her brother James Campbell.
Services will be held on October 19, 2023, at Eighth Street Baptist Church, 1420 N. 8th St., KCKS 66101. Visitation: 9:00am, Services at 10:00am, Interment: Leavenworth National Cemetery immediately following the service.
