His Life’s Story
Joseph Hubbard passed peacefully while sleeping, December 22, 2021, at the age of 89. He battled several degenerating illnesses but was surrounded by those who loved him most. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years.
Born is Shreveport Louisiana December 14, 1932, he was the proud son of George and Clotel Hubbard. Joe had three brothers, and two sisters. He left home to pursue his thirst for life joining the United States Air Force in January 1952, where he became a Supply Specialist at the 4th Air Force, Hamilton AFB California. He was Honorably discharged after four years and became a Californian for several years. But his love for life and travel bought him to Kansas City, where he worked for Ford Motor Corporation and retired after 35 years.
His met and married his life partner, Virginia White, while working his favorite non-paid occupation golfing. The two were married in wholly matrimony March 24, 1975. An avid golfer Joe traveled the United and Canada playing in tournaments whenever possible. He was an active member of several Black Golf Associations: The Putters, The Wedges, Driver, and Three Wood to name a few. He was kind man who and never met a stranger in his many travels. He was blessed to have a close circle of love-ones; and will be missed by his loving niece, Andrea Wiley, his devoted caretaker, James Matthews, friends, and family. Most of all his other half his wife, Virginia.
