Joetta Love was born March 28, 1951, to Ruth Elizabeth Dixon-Harris and Joseph Harris in Kansas City, KS. She was the baby of her three siblings. Joetta was proceeded in death by her parents, sister Marva L. Scruggs and brother Herman Lov and sister Yvonne Norris.
Joetta accepted Christ as her personal savior at a young age at Salem Baptist Church in Kansas City, KS. Her primary education was gained with the Kansas City, MO school district. She graduated from Central High School in the class of 1969. Soon after graduation she attended Kansas City Business School and studied secretarial administration. Joetta joined the workforce for Hallmark cards she went on to retire from the Kansas City school district after 25 years (1971- 1996.) She worked at various schools, but her last employment was at Westport High School. Joetta worked for the school district for 25 years and found joy in working with the students over the years.
Joetta loved going to the casino and enjoyed watching television game shows. Her favorite machine to play at Isle of Capri was the penny machine. The highlight of her fun was game night with her family. She would win the game CLR on family game night and enjoy it. She was also a member of a Pokeno club with her mother, and they traveled with the group annually to Las Vegas. Joetta was a lover of playing bingo with her sister Marva on Friday nights. She loved to stay stylish and often frequented Lane Bryant, one of her favorite stores.
Joetta leaves to cherish her one and only son Andre Love (Erica) of Kansas City, MO and her five grandkids. Holly Mack of Dallas TX, Noah, D’Andre, D’Ontay, D’Vontae Love of Kansas City, MO. She also leaves behind one great-grandson RJ Hyder (Holly) of Dallas, TX. Joetta also leaves to cherish one sister Sharron Crudup of Kansas City, MO. Joetta will be missed by her longtime best friend Sue Eason, Ella Coleman, God daughters Mary McNeal and Yolanda Dickerson. She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and her beloved family.
