Jeffery Moore Obituary

Jeffrey Marshall Moore was born June 10, 1979, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Marshall and Erma Moore, the youngest of three children and the undeniable baby of the family. He grew up in a warm, close‑knit village of parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, and anyone else who wandered into the Moore household and stayed long enough to be claimed. From that foundation, he learned love, compassion, kindness, respect, and a work ethic that could outpace most grown folks before he even hit high school.

His spiritual roots were planted at Third Street Missionary Baptist Church, where he was baptized on April 20, 1990, by Reverend Mack McConnell Jr.  Jeff served proudly as an usher—greeting folks with that signature smile that could brighten a whole sanctuary.

A proud graduate of Washington High School, Class of 1997, Jeff went on to earn his Bachelor of Science from Graceland University graduating in 2002. He arrived on a football scholarship but quickly discovered his true calling in IT and business analytics.  After college, he returned home to Kansas City and spent ten years as a Senior Business Analyst with DST Pharmacy Solutions, consistently ranking as a top performer and a trusted teammate. Most recently, he brought his talents to Metro Star,  as a Business Analyst where he continued to shine for more than three years.

If you knew Jeff, you knew his gentle spirit, his supportive nature, and that booming, gregarious laugh that could turn any room into a good time. In his later years, he fell in love with photography, turning every family gathering into a full‑blown photo shoot. We’re grateful he captured so many joyful moments, especially the ones with his daughters, preserving their love story for generations.

He also derived satisfaction from his involvement with The Kansas City Cinema Club, where he engaged in discussions about film, fostered camaraderie among peers, and participated in thoughtful evaluation of movie ratings. He consistently valued the perspectives of his colleagues and demonstrated keen insight by drawing attention to subtle humor or cinematographic techniques that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Jeff’s world revolved around his longtime love, Alexis, and being a proud Girl Dad. Just as important was his role as the family glue—our very own “Uncle Grandpa.” From legendary Easter egg hunts to dressing up as Santa for the neighborhood kids, Jeff made magic out of ordinary days.

He leaves behind his beloved mother, Erma Moore; his daughters, Audralynn and the ever‑precocious Kai; and his life partner, Alexis, with whom he shared a life full of dancing, laughter, and adventure. He was also the unofficial “family arbitrator,” keeping the peace between his sisters, Renee Carter and Christina Moore, with humor, patience, and just the right amount of side‑eye.

Proudly known as the legendary “Uncle Grandpa,” Jeff poured love, jokes, and wisdom into the lives of D’Ondre Cyrus, Chyna Lee Moore Ellis, Jana Ellis, Annetta Winston, Tommie Robinson, Ty’Ron Robinson, LlaNeja Anthony, and Rosalind Moore. He was cherished by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, who will miss him deeply. His presence illuminated every space, his spirit filled hearts with happiness, and the memories he leaves behind will keep inspiring smiles wherever he once brought warmth and laughter.
