James Edward Williams, 74 passed away on 7/17/23 at his home in Kansas City, KS. He was born on 6/4/1949 in Moro, AR to Roosevelt and Norris “Bernice” Randle Williams. James grew up in Kansas City, KS. He graduated from Sumner High School in Kansas City, KS in 1967. He joined the Army in 1967 and served 4 years. He was honorably discharged in 1971. James married Kathryn in 1973 in Kansas City, KS. They were happily married for 49 years. He enjoyed sports and going to the casino.
Jams was preceded in death by his father, Roosevelt Williams, his mother Norris “Bernice” Williams, his brother, Eurvin Williams, and his beloved wife, Kathryn Williams.
James is survived by his Trabeon (Derrick) Roberson of Independence, MO. His 7 brothers, Curtis Williams (New Newark, NJ), Rosezell (Judy) Williams (CA), Andrew (Louise) Williams (Kansas City, KS), Kenneth (Theresa) Williams (Kansas City, KS), Dewayne Williams (Kansas City, KS), Michael (Dorothea) Williams (Olathe), and Anthony (Audrey) Williams (Olathe, KS). His 4 sisters Delois Clark (Dallas, TX), Jackie (Peter) Ronnau (Kansas City, KS), Ernestine Lyons (Raytown, MO) and Mary Williams (Kansas City, KS). His grandsons James (Briahna) Williams Sr. (St. Louis, MO) and Javeon (Nicole) Williams (Kansas City, KS). His great-grandkids Ni’Liyah Williams, James Williams Jr and Amari Williams. His Nieces and nephews: a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Pleasant Green Baptist Church, 340 David L. Gray Dr. Kansas City, KS 66101, on 7/29/23 at 3:00 pm. Visitation starts at 2:00 p.m. Condolence may be left on James Williams's online guest book. The Family wishes to extend their gratitude to Pleasant Green, Thatcher Funeral Home, family and friends.
