James Howard Davidson Sr. passed away on March 5, 2023, at The Village at Mission Senior Living Community in Prairie Village, KS. James was born on October 20, 1940, in Kansas City, Mo., to Daniel and Jettie Barrett Davidson. James grew up in Kansas City, Kansas. He graduated from Sumner High School in Kansas City, Kansas, class of 1958.
James attended Trade School for Auto Mechanics in Kansas City MO., where he received a certificate for Auto Repair. James began working at The Leader Clothing store specializing in Men's Suits for 15 years. James worked for over 30 years at Westvaco in Fairfax. He retired and his retirement job was a Security Officer for The Nelson Atkins Museum where he received recognition certificates for exemplary service.
James was involved with the Holy Name Society at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic church.
James fell in love and married Evalena Dennis on June 1, 1963, in Kansas City, Kansas. They were happily married for 60 years. To this union, two sons were born.
James was the Bar BQ king! He enjoyed car racing, football (BIG Chiefs fan) basketball, pool. He loved Jazz, R&B, and Blues. James played several musical instruments including piano, bass guitar.
James was preceded in death by his parents. James is survived by his spouse, Evalena of Prairie Village, KS; his sons James Howard (Denise)Davidson Jr. of Raytown, MO., and Dan (Evelyn) Davidson.
Grandchildren, Jocelyn, Allison, and Elizabeth Davidson of North Kansas City.
Godchildren: Dallas Williams, Gaylen Bruce, Nicholas and Nicole Thomas. His nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
