James "Chi-Town" Crosby was born on April 19, 1950, in Memphis, Tennessee and peacefully passed away on June 2, 2025. James attended Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, KS. He worked as a cook, a profession that allowed him to share his love for food and bring joy to others through his craft. As a child, he enjoyed gymnastics. He especially loved dressing up in stylish suits and two-stepping, always bringing personality and and rhythm to any room he entered. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis Sr. and Annie Mae Crosby; his brother, Dennis Crosby Jr.; and his sister, Florida Gordon. James is survived by his siblings: sisters Martha Townsend; Alberta Sanders; and Jeanette Crosby-Gilmore; and brother John Crosby (Vivian). He also leaves behind many cherished relatives and friends.
