Life’s Reflection
James William Charles Barnett, 76, was born December 28, 1943, in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the only child of William and Charlene Barnett. They have preceded him in death. He received his early education in Kansas City, Missouri. He attended Community College for two years in Kansas City, Missouri and furthered his education at Rolla University, studying in Engineering.
Mr. Barnett professed a hope in Christ at an early age. He united with Gregg Tabernacle A&M in Kansas City, Missouri and his latter membership was with Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church, under the pastorage of Dr. Ricky D. Turner.
He was married to his first wife, Marilyn Quinn for six years in which he had a son, Jeffrey Scott. His second union in marriage was with Karen Coleman in which they shared a daughter, Alicia Janene, and a son, William David.
His careers: Junior Engineer, Broadcaster and Sportswriter, Customer Service Rep, Loan Document Specialist, and Investor Services Rep.
His leisure time it was spent in, sports writing and working as a sports reporter.
He departed this life on April 18, 2020 at his home in Kansas City, Kansas. He leaves to cherish his beloved, Karen Barnett; his daughter, Alicia Janene; his two sons: Jeffrey Scott and William David; his granddaughters: Jaima Saunders, DeVynn Barnett, Imani Barnett, Alaya and Lorenzo Browne; his great grand-daughters: Muryah Butler and Viona Releford and a host of other relatives and friends.
