Jacqueline “Jakki” Terri Lloyd
Jacqueline was born on March 24, 1961, in Kansas City, Kansas, the second child born to Gloria (Barnett) Collier. She was preceded in death by her father Terry Lloyd; grandmother Fannie Carol Barnett; and paternal grandmother Lela Mae Lloyd.
Jacqueline received her education in the Kansas City, Kansas School District at Stowe; and Banneker Elementary; and Northeast Middle Schools. She attended the last Sumner High School class before graduating from Wyandotte High School in 1979.
She worked for the Kansas City, Kansas School District for over 42 years as a Paraeducator at Stony Point North Elementary, and Gloria Willis Middle School. She retired in 2021 with an emphasis in Special Education for the Kansas City, Kansas School District. Jacqueline was recognized as “Employee of the Month” by the KCK Board of Education in September 2012 and awarded the KCK Superintendent’s Service Award for the 2014-2015 school year. For over 20 years of dedicated service, Ms. Jakki, as she was affectionately known, provided special support at KAD Performing Arts as the Office Manager and then as the Creative Designer. Ms. Jakki was deeply loved by her KAD family.
Jakki was baptized at an early age at Pleasant Green Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas, and then later united with Grace Tabernacle Family Life Outreach Center. She was an avid Chief’s fan, loved to cook for her family and friends, and served as a cater and wedding coordinator. Jakki was a wonderful gardener with a true green thumb that brought life to anything she touched. Jakki loved anything with a zebra or leopard animal print. Her nieces and nephew were her pure pride and joy. She was the best aunt ever!
Jakki’s life partner and love of her life, Michael J. Tucker, was first introduced to her, by her sister Joyce, at a Christmas Party in 1989. Mike and Jakki loved traveling, eating out, going to movies, and Jakki loved dragging Mike shopping.
Jakki departed this earthly life for her heavenly home on Sunday, May 23, 2021
