Howard Lee Kelley, 74, passed away on June 12, 2023 at the Wilshire Lakewood Care Center in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. He was born on March 23, 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri to Raymond Howard Kelley and Georgia Mae Matthews Kelley.
Howard grew up in Kansas City, Kansas. He graduated from Wyandotte High School, Kansas City, Kansas in 1967. After high school he attended Kansas University in Lawrence, Kansas where he acquired the equivalent of an Associate Degree in Fine Arts.
Howard held a variety of jobs throughout his lifetime but was gifted in art and was often commissioned by various individuals and organizations to create original pieces of art. At one time some of his work was hanging in his former high school, Wyandotte.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Howard Kelley and Georgia Mae Matthews Kelley, his sister Dora Lee Kelley and most recently his brother, George Elven Kelley.
Howard is survived by his brother Delbert (Carole), Kansas City, KS; sister Linda Harris (Herbert), Kansas City MO; and brother Raymond (Damita), of Peoria, Arizona; nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family wishes to extend their thanks and gratitude to all those who were supportive of Howard in his time of need, especially the hospice nursing staff at Research Medical Center and the Wilshire Center.
