Gertrude Williams, 80, passed away on November 29, 2024, at Evergreen Community of Johnson County in Olathe, Kansas.
She was born on November 29, 1944, in North Little Rock, AR. Gertrude grew up in North Little Rock, AR. She graduated from Lonoke Arkansas High School in Lonoke, Arkansas. After high school, she received a certificate as a C.M.A. Gertrude began working for Trinity Lutheran Manor as a C.M.A., where she worked for 28 years and retired in 1987.
She married Leroy in 1962 in North Little Rock, AR, happily married for 45 years.
Gertrude dedicated her life to helping out at the church and was a member of Calvary Pentecostal Church.
Gertrude Williams was preceded in death by her husband Leroy Williams Sr.; her children, Edward Chilliest and Carolyn Haynes; her sisters, Joan Hooks, Gladys Brook, Rose Lee Eason, and Mayonie Gunnell; Brother George Edward; and grandson, Antwaine Haynes.
She is survived by her daughter Jaqueline Williams Scott of Kansas City, KS; her sons Leroy Williams (Marie Williams) Jr. of Kansas City, KS, Larry Williams (Clarrisa Williams) of Denton, TX; siblings, Gerlie Harris and Jerry Hooks of North Little Rock, AR; five grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; host of nieces and nephews; a host of other relatives and friends.
