Life’s Reflection

Georgia C. Harris was born June 03,1930 in Abderdeen, Mississippi. She was one of 11 children born to Gertrude and Cal Hogan, Sr. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Harris, Sr. her mother, father, nine sisters, two brothers, and nine children.

Her early years of education were in Mississippi. While still a young girl, Georgia confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and remained faithful to serving Christ during her lifetime.

She married Leroy Harris and to this union 19 children were born. She was a devoted mother to her children, and she believed in discipline and order.

For over 40 years Georgia worked diligently for USD 500 where she prepared meals that were delivered to the schools within the district. Because of her being a dedicated worker, she received many certificates of performance for the quality of her work.

Georgia enjoyed life and her family. She especially loved the holidays when all the grandchildren would come to her home and eat. She loved cooking and was an excellent cook. She loved to quilt and make pottery; she loved music, and loved to dance, she loved shopping, dressing well, and wearing her favorite red lipstick. She also had a green thumb when it came to growing plants.

Our beloved mother made her transition to her new home in Glory on Monday, November 22, 2021. She leaves to cherish her memories, five daughters, Georgia P. Harris, Deloris Johnson, Dorothy Harris, Barbara Bowie, and Theresa Guinn; five sons, Hosie Hogan, Leeroy Harris, Willie J. Harris, Melvin J. Harris, and David Harris; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
