GERALDINE MONTAGUE Obituary

Geraldine Montague, 72, passed away on September 9th,2024 at home in Leavenworth, KS. She was born on May 31st, 1952, in Kansas city, KS to John sr. and Rosa Heggie. Geraldine grew up in Kansas City, KS.

She graduated from Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, KS in 1970. After she graduated from high school, she

 attended college at KCKCC in KCKS where she received her associate's degree in drug and alcohol counseling.

Geraldine worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for over 8 years in Iowa and when she moved back to Kansas, she began work at KMADT drug and alcohol treatment center for many years. She retired from Speedway gas station as the head manager.

Geraldine married Tyrone Montague and was happily married for 25 years. Geraldine was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church where she received her calling and became a reverend. She enjoyed reading, being with her grandchildren, and preaching,

Geraldine was preceded in death by her mother Rosa and father John Heggie Sr., Larry Heggie (brother), Johnetta Heggie (sister), and brother Ronald Heggie.

Geraldine is survived by her spouse Tyrone of Baltimore, Md.  Her   children: Maurice jr., Tamika, Keyla, Lamier, and Alexis. Her stepchildren: Maurice Orlando, Kim, Monique, and  Lisa. Her siblings, Alberta Martin, John Heggie Jr., Charles Heggie, Eva Heggie, Linda eggie, Clifford Heggie, and Carl Heggie. Grandchildren: Fidencia, Chyanne, Donovan, Mauricia, Jazee’re, Mauriyana, Andrew jr, Darcell Jr., Elaine, Jaylyn and Ja’ki. Great-grandchildren: TraNiya, Trashaun, Isaac, Jacem, and Levi. Her nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
