Frederica Whitaker passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 16, 2023. Frederica was born August 5, 1942, to Frederick Lee Whitaker and Lena Maxwell Whitaker. Frederica also known as “Freddie” was the youngest of seven siblings. Frederica received her education in the Kansas City, Kansas Public School system.
Frederica accepted Christ in her life at an early age. She was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church for over 70 years. During this time she was active in several ministries as an usher, Senior Saints, and as a Trustee. Frederica worked in the Kansas City area for over 40 years as a property manager and a property manager supervisor, retiring in 2014.
Frederica was preceded in death by both parents Frederick Lee Whitaker of Kansas City, Kansas and Lena Martin-Lyles of Los Angeles, California; her son Burton Toliver Dillard III, of Kansas City, Kansas, Brothers Clarence D. Whitaker, Sr., Kansas City, Kansas and Xenophon Whitaker, Kansas City, Kansas. Sisters Opal Graham, Inglewood, California, and Dalphaous Arnold, Los Angeles, California.
Frederica, leaves to celebrate her life, brother Harvey Whitaker, Kansas City, Kansas and sister Lora Louis Smith, Kansas City, Kansas, a host of nieces and nephews and all that had the pleasure of knowing her.
