Farrell Frank Huggins

Farrell F. Huggins, 81, passed away on June 15, 2026 peacefully at home with his sister Venita by his side in Kansas City, KS. He was born on June 19, 1944 also in Kansas City, KS to Levi and Helen Huggins.

Farrell grew up in Kansas City, KS and graduated from Sumner High School in 1962. After high school he entered the Air Force during the Vietnam War and was a pilot. He served 4 years in the Air Force then returned back to Kansas City, KS. He graduated from Kansas City Kansas Community College in 1969.

He worked for the Gas Company as a Meter Reader until he retired in 1981.

Farrell spent his time going around the KC Metro area using public transportation. He was one who valued independence, self-sufficiency, and discipline. A private and organized man, he took pride in handling things his own way and living life on his own terms. His siblings checked in with him by taking him to the laundromat and grocery store weekly, until their health started to fade. His youngest sister Venita took on the responsibility of looking in on Farrell and she got him a home health aid to assist. Once his health declined further, Venita's daughter Lanesha and her wife Tiffany (a nurse) made the decision to have him move into their home, where Venita was also living. While there, Farrell began to thrive with his sister by his side, assisting him with activities of daily living. A little over a year later, Farrell passed away peacefully with his sister by his side.

Farrell was preceded in death by parents Helen and Levi Huggins, siblings Lester "Bubba" Huggins, Jacqueline "Jackie" Briggs, Howard Huggins, Gwendolyn "Gwen" Richards and Quincelia "Celia" Conway.

Farrell is survived by his sister Venita E. Huggins (Kansas City, KS), brother Lee A. Huggins (Kansas City, MO) and a host of nieces and nephews including his final caregivers Lanesha and Tiffany Huggins of Kansas City, KS.
