Words of Reflection
“.. And I will dwell in the house of the lord forever.”
Eugene Autrey Stuart (Gene) was born November 12, 1943, to Fezell and Ruth Stuart in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Both parents, proceeded him in death. In 1944, the Stuart’s moved to Kansas City, Kansas before settling down in Kansas City, Missouri. His mother was employed by the general service administration at Bendix before her retirement. His father was employed as a Truck Driver for Builder’s Block for 30 years before retiring in 1974. Gene was an active and cheerful person who enjoyed helping others. He loved to cook and be surrounded by family and friends. He continued to enjoy listening to gospel music and sitting on the porch visiting with neighbors and friends. Gene was a residence of Palestine Gardens Apartments for 10 years...
Gene spent time going out on visits with neighbors and friends to different events that the agency would sponsor. Gene did not have a Church home but would attend services with others in the agency. He would also go to Church with his cousin, Ludelia Block Cowan.
On January 15, 2022, a light shined down from heaven and Gene’s name was called. The voice said, “Gene, this is Jesus; no more suffering, you’ve lived down on earth long enough, all of life’s troubles and heartaches are over. I’ve come to take you to a better place of Joy and Peace, a perfect place to rest”.
Gene will be sadly missed by Ludelia Block Cowan (cousin); Iola Matson (cousin) from Chicago, Illinois; along with a host of others family and friends.
