Eugene Tucker, 77, passed away on September 11, 2024, at his home, in Kansas City, KS. He was born on September 5, 1947, in Kansas City, KS to John and Dorothy Tucker.
Eugene Tucker grew up in Kansas City, KS. He graduated from Sumner High School in Kansas 1967. After high school he:
-began work for Westvaco/Williamette as a machine operator where he worked for 30 years.
Eugene was common law married to Yoshima Holmes-Tucker in 1981 and then in 1991 they joined in holy matrimony in Kansas City, KS. They were married for 43 years. Eugene became a member of the Eight Street Baptist Church (ESBC) in 1981. He was apart of the Layman Ministry, Usher Board, Sunday School, Senior Ministry, Men Ministry, and Vacation Bible School, he was a regular attendee at the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education, and he would help in the kitchen. He enjoyed hosting Superbowl watching sports, eating, & hanging with family and friends. He received an award from the ESBC Usher Board for his dedicated service in September 18, 2005, he received a certificate for The Resolution from the church in 2013, and he received the award of Father of The Year from ESBC.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents: John and Dorothy Tucker, and siblings: Queen Bey, and Cynthia Tucker.
Eugene leaves to cherish his memory his Amazing wife Yoshima (Shimmy) Holmes-Tucker; His daughter Anitra Tucker; His adopted daughters: Bi’Anca Smart (Curtis), & Nicorya Akins; His sons: Sedrick, Behyjrums Jr. (Maria), Marquis (Nancy), & Darrel; His Brother: John (Pooky) Tucker Jr.; Grandchildren: Bree’Ajanai, Awskyri, Elexus-Riley, Chelle’Bee, Tyler, Jelon, Marquis Jr., Mareyion, Mariah, Marayah, & Behyjrums Velasquez-Holmes III; Great Grandchildren: Bailee Hill and Samuel Smart; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, God daughters/sons, and other relatives/friends.
