Ethel M. Coleman was born November 24, 1934, to Wylie and Bertha Lyons in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Ethel departed this life on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at the Shawnee Gardens Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Ethel received her formal education in Little Rock, AR and an associate’s degree from the University of Kansas.
Ethel was employed with the Salvation Army Day Care as a teacher for 30 years until she retired.
Ethel was a profound member of New Seasons Christian Church for many years formally known as Third Street Church of God. She loved reading the Bible and praying, for many years she taught Sunday School, as well as playing the piano and Harp, she enjoyed listening to Ludwig Beethoven the famous pianist.
Ethel was an excellent baker for many years. She would bake 30 different cookies during the Christmas season and cakes for birthdays and funerals.
Ethel was preceded in death by her father Wylie Lyons and Mother Bertha Lyons, her sister Mary Lee Drane, her late husband Ewell C. Coleman, her son Ewell G. Coleman, grandson Aaron Coleman.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Charmaine Coleman, Marilyn Coleman, and Sonya T. Coleman Hildebrandt; her sons, Garland Coleman and Phillip Coleman; granddaughters, Whitney Dixon(Michael), Erin Coleman and Leah Hildebrandt; grandsons, Weston Locke (Ey Royal), Moses Coleman, Elijah Coleman, Michael Hildebrandt, Joshua Coleman, Caleb Coleman and Christopher Coleman; her great-grandsons, Elijah Locke and Noah Locke; her great-granddaughter, Grace Locke; and a host of nieces and nephews.
