Elmer Scott, 79, passed away on August 6, 2024, at his home in Blue Springs MO. He was born on May 5, 1945, in Kansas City, KS to Elmer and Hattie Spence Scott. He was the eldest of nine siblings.
Elmer grew up in Kansas City, KS. He graduated from Sumner High School in 1964.
After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army in 1965 and served in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1967 after two years of military service.
Following his return home from the military, Elmer began his employment with Commercial Lithographing and Printing Company as a pressman, where he worked for more than 25 years. He retired from the company in 2001.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Hattie Scott, his brothers, Willie Scott, Jimmy Scott, and Frank Scott, his sisters, Brenda Leak, Shirline Harris, Theresa Scott, and Regina Scott.
He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Scott of Blue Springs, MO; Darrian Scott of Independence, MO; his daughters, Valori Sanders of Blue Springs, MO;
Kynette Campbell of Houston, TX; his brother, Theodore Scott of Kansas City, MO; his grandchildren, Adrien Turner, Jeffrey Scott Jr, Rheon Merrill, Jeremy Scott,
Robert Sanders III, and Jeree’ Campbell; his great-grandchildren, Maverick Merrill, and Madden Merrill. Also, his nephews and nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends.
