ELIZEBEATH HELAIRE Obituary

“Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.”  Proverbs 31:10

Elizebeath Helaire departed this life peacefully on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at The Healthcare Resort of Kansas City, surrounded by loved ones, gospel music, and scriptures.

Elizebeath was born February 6, 1944, to proud parents Roy Kirk and Lillie Mae          Watson. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, 3 of her siblings and her daughter, Sylvia Denise Scott.  Elizebeath accepted Christ at an early age of 10 at the Lincoln Road Baptist Church, in Alexandria, Louisiana.  She was an active member of the Second Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas for over 40 years. In order to be closer to her children, Elizebeath moved to Kansas City, Kansas.   She soon became a member of Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church where she joined the Senior Saints and Prayer Ministries. She loved her Pastor and his wife, Dr. Ricky and Tinalisa Turner.  Elizebeath was known for ensuring a German chocolate cake or some gumbo was in the Turner house for many years.

Elizebeath met and married the love of her life, Earl Helaire 1962, in Alexandria  Louisiana. God granted to their union two children.  She found love again, after her divorce, and was blessed with two more children whom she loved dearly.

She was a Godly woman full of grace and virtue.  She enjoyed fishing, dancing, cooking for family reunions, bible study, serving others and worship on Sunday morning.  She liked spending time traveling to Louisiana, Houston, Las Vegas, Colorado, New York, Oklahoma, and anywhere else her family was.  Elizebeath also loved playing cards and dominoes, gardening, adventuring to the local casinos and spending time with her friends and family.

She spent more than 50 years of her life feeding the hearts and health of children and senior citizens as a Dietician at Kansas Neurological Institute for Children, The Boys Industrial School and Brewster Retirement Home, Topeka Kansas.

She was a loving, kind-hearted mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend as she always held her family in high esteem and devotion.  During her recent years she displayed a sense of strength and peaceful tranquility.  Even as the Lord called her to be a part of his flower garden, she peacefully slept into God’s presence.

Elizebeath leaves to cherish her memory her children Abbie Dillard (Irvin), Earl Helaire, Jr. and Alfred Kirk, Jr. (Elisabeth).  The loves of her heart were her grandchildren, Shawn Barber, Savannah Helaire, Ian Helaire, Alfred Kirk III and Mathew Scott-Johnson. She also leaves to cherish her memory her brothers, Roy Kirk, J. (Jessie), Arther Kirk (Mildred), Rev. Dr. Lloyd Kirk, Sr. (Eveline), five sisters, Jessie Mae Kirk, Lois Kirk, Joella Bush, Viola Gaylord, and JoAnn Henderson as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends and her ORMBC church family.

Elizebeath Helaire loved the Lord. We will miss her warm smile, words of wisdom, good food, and the lessons she taught us all.  She was a virtuous woman indeed.
