Edward Lee Jackson III, 78, passed away on July 14, 2024, at Riverbend Post Acute Rehabilitation, in Kansas City, Kansas. He was born on September 26, 1945, in Kansas City, Kansas to Edward Lee Jackson II and Evelyn Marie Nichols (Guess).
Edward grew up in Kansas City, Kansas. He graduated from Sasakwa High School in Sasakwa, Oklahoma.
He joined the Navy in 1963. He was honorably discharged, in 66, achieving the rank of Seaman Recruit.
Edward began work for Hercules Powder Plant. Later he started his own business, Jackson Masonary. He retired after 40 years. His talent for bricklaying has been woven throughout Kansas and Missouri.
Edward married (proceeded in death) Gloria Bethea (Jackson)- 1979 and later in life Laquita Vance (Jackson) -2001.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Edward was preceded in death by his father, Edward Lee Jackson II, mother, Evelyn Marie Nichols (Guess), siblings, Ralph E. Jackson, Sharon K. Duvernay, and Ronald Guess.
Edward is survived by his daughter Tijuana Jackson Rudolph (Todd), of Liberty, MO; his sons, Tony L. Jackson (Katrena), of Houston, TX, Edward Lee Jackson IV (Toni), Edwin L. Jackson of Kansas City KS; Alsheed Mohammed ( Zeneta) of DeSoto, TX; his brother Floyd W. Jackson of Kansas City, KS; Papa -Daddy’s grandchildren, Domian Jackson (Shauna), Kiatana Square, Kaylin Lowe (Larry), Keylee, Khalaya, Raegan, Ava, Ever, Ezra, Eryss Jackson; great-grandchildren Dominic and Desmen Jackson, Kori Blockmon; and his nieces and nephews Rhonda, Jasmine and Jeremy Guess, Jaquita Thompson, Issac and Dayon Anderson, Lawren Duvernay; and a host of other relatives and friends.
