Life’s Reflection
Dwight Allen Chaplin, Jr. was born August 5, 1979, the only child to Linda Chaplin and Dwight Chaplin, Sr. Dwight was baptized September 2, 1979, into the Roman Catholic Church at Our Lady and St. Rose Church in Kansas City, Ks. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas and Willie Mae French and Nathaniel Chaplin, II.
Dwight, affectionately known as “J.R.”, attended public schools and graduated from J.C. Harmon High School in May 1997. He held a host of jobs, but the one he enjoyed the most was his Union Job as a stage hand. He enjoyed putting together different stages for concerts.
God decided to give Dwight his Angel Wings on the Lord’s birthday, December 25, 2022.
Dwight is survived by his parents, Linda Chaplin (KCK) and Dwight Chaplin, Sr., (CO); sister, Krystal Chaplin (CO); and brother, Nathaniel Chaplin, III (CO); grandmother, Lois Chaplin (KCMO); daughter, Kaviya Chaplin (CA); constant companion for over 20 years Elizabeth Garcia; and their daughters, Ysabella, and Kamryn Chaplin (KCMO); and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, 2 nephews, and friends.
