Drameta Darlene Tisdale, 68, passed away on January 19, 2026, at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. Drameta was born on July 4th, 1957, in California, and raised in Kansas City, Kansas, by her parents, Prentis and Myrtlee Bowles. She graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1976 and attended Dickinson Wright Business School.
Drameta was a member of Fellowship Christian Church D.O.C. in Kansas City, Kansas.
Drameta met Donald Leroy Tisdale in 1980; they were married on January 3, 1983, and he helped raise two-year-old Brandee as his own. He also had older children from a previous marriage: Donald Jr., Sherman (deceased), and LaCrecia (deceased). They all blended as a happy family.
Drameta’ s gift was being in the medical field, working in Senior Living, and as a private duty caregiver. She also found love in the food industry, helping various restaurants open their doors and navigate the kitchen.
She was God-fearing, loving, and a giving soul with a personality full of joy. She cared for her grandkids and was very present and active every step of the way. She stayed in front and center; her only complaint was if someone else had them and she didn’t.
Drameta was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Leroy Tisdale Sr., her grandparents, Bill and Daisy Hudson, her mother Myrtlee Bowles, her brother Demond Bowles, her sister Billie Ray, step-son Sherman Tisdale Sr., step-daughter LaCrecia Tisdale, and grandson Sherman Tisdale Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter Brandee (Kenneth) Edwards of Kansas City, Missouri; her stepson Donald Tisdale Jr; her brothers Prentis Jr. (Naomi) Bowles, William (Wanda) Bowles, Sisters Denise Daniels, Paula (George) Kemper, all of Kansas City, Kansas; her grandchildren Isaiah Ford, Israel Ford, Ivori Ford, Dachele (Lashunda) Davis-Tisdale, Mikala Tisdale, Jason Wells, (Tre) Donald Tisdale III, Tavion Ross and Alexandria Robinson; great-grandchildren J’Miyai Wright, E’Liyah Barnett, Lennox Davis-Tisdale, Lynnon Davis-Tisdale, Storie Ford, Seriyah Ford, Ka’Marion Ford, Kaylen Ford, Skylah Ford; a host of nephews, nieces, other family and friends that loved her dearly.
