Life Reflections

Dorothy Jean Huey was born on August 21, 1929 in Waldo, Arkansas to Johnny Hayes and Beulah Farris.  Dorothy grew up in Texarkana, Arkansas before moving to Kansas City, Kansas at the age of nine years old.  She graduated from Sumner High School in Kansas City, Kansas in 1947.  After high school she began working for the Internal Revenue Service.  She also worked at Social Security Administration for a number of years.  After retiring from the Social Security Administration, she worked for Trinity Lutheran Hospital.  She retired after 52 years of combined service.

Dorothy married Thurman K. Huey on August 20, 1948 in Kansas City, Kansas.  They were happily married for 43 years.  When not involved with family and/or church events, Dorothy loved reading the newspaper, solving word puzzles, watching sports and cheering on her personal sports heroes, LeBron James and Tiger Woods.
