Life Reflections
Doris Louise Moore 92 was born May 19, 1928 to John and Nellie (Salmond) McKinney in Kansas City, Kansas.
She married Charles Hall, Sr. and together they had eight children, six girls and two boys. After Charles death she married John S. Moore.
Doris received her education in Sunflower, Mississippi and Kansas City, Kansas. Model Cities was her first employer where she worked as a bookkeeper. In April 1979, she became a Licensed Practical Nurse, went on to work at Wayne Minor for many years before retiring.
Doris first started her membership at St. Stephen’s Baptist Church under the pastorship of Dr. John W. Williams. Later on, in life she joined Salem Baptist Church (Rev. C.B. Bailey) and was a faithful member for 29 years. Evangelistic Center (Bishop Jack Vaughn) was her final church home until her death. She taught Sunday School, served on the Deaconess Board (S.B.C. and the Mother Board (E.C.). She lived her life as a faithful servant of God for many many years.
Doris departed this earthly life for her heavenly home on Friday, May 7, 2021
Preceding her in death her parents, John, and Nellie; husband John S. Moore; seven sisters, Thelma Weaver; Clarissa Thompson; Johnetta Wallace; Verdis Bluett; Sylvia McKinney; Earlene Jackson; Ruby Brooks; and Jeayne Brooks; three brothers, Otis McKinney; Donald McKinney; and Samuel McKinney; stepdaughter, Jacqueline Moore; grandson Rondale Reid.
She leaves to mourn her homegoing six daughters, Charlzetta Hall; Clarissa Hall; Carolyn Collins; Crystal Reid; Cassandra Selectman; and Cedra Birch; two sons, Charles Hall, Jr.; and Clifton Hall; two stepsons, Johnny Moore; and Jonelle Moore; stepdaughter, Joellen Moore; twenty-two grandchildren; forty-three great grandchildren; fifteen great-great grandchildren; one sister, May Frances; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
