Doris “Jean” Strong Green was born on July 4, 1937 in Roachdale, Mississippi to Martin C. Strong Sr and Johnnie B. Strong. Jean graduated from Aggie High School in Clarksdale Mississippi and continued her education at Mississippi Valley State University. She completed her clinicals at Vicksburg hospital where she obtained her LPN license.
She was baptized at an early age and attended New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Clarksdale, MS. When she settled in Kansas City KS in 1962, she joined Roswell Church of Christ and transferred to Faith City Christian Center in 2015 under the leadership of Bishop W.R. Starr and Lady Tonie Starr in Kansas City, KS.
Jean worked at St. Margaret Hospital, Bryant Butler Kitchen Nursing Home, Medical lodge North and Bethany Medical Center in Kansas City KS, before she retired.
On February 2, 2025, Doris “Jean” Green was called to be with the lord. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents and daughter Teri Lynne Green.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory sons; Reggie (Linda) Green of Pontiac MI, MiGuale (Marquita) Green of Kansas City, MO, Willie Shawn Green of Kansas City KS, daughters Tonja Strong of Lithia Springs, GA, Monica Green of Kansas City KS, granddaughter Ashely Green of Kansas City KS. Jean siblings Delores “Connie” (C.W.) Grayson of Clarksdale, MS, Martin C. “Sonny” (Dorothy) Strong Jr. of Clarksdale, MS, Glenda “Faye” (Edward Charles) Mitchell of Rancho Cucamonga, CA. 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, three great great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
