Life's Reflection
Denise Marie Smith -Taylor, 63, passed away January 19th, 2023, at her home in Brockton, MA after a short illness.
Denise is survived by her son, Jamaal Taylor of Brockton, MA; her siblings, Willie L Smith; Anthony L Smith, KCK; and Carida L Smith-Berry, LS, MO; Mother and Father in-law Francis; and Rufus Taylor, MA. And a host of cousins, aunt's and uncles
Denise is predeceased by her husband, Vincent Taylor; her parents, Willie and Bessie Smith; her grandmother, Gracie Starks; her uncle, Eddie Smith; and Aunt Lula Smith.
Denise was born August 9th, 1959, to Willie and Bessie Smith. She is the 3rd of four children. She graduated from National College, Rapid City, SD with a degree in Business administration and worked as an Executive Assistant at First Years for 25 years. Office manager at Sullivan and Folan, CPA and studied at the Quality of Course School of Wedding and Event Planning where she went on to become an entrepreneur and business owner of Passionate Events by Denise.
While in college, she met Vincent Taylor who was serving in the US Army stationed in Rapid City, SD and went on to marry in 1981. Three years later on April 19th, 1984, they welcomed their son Jamaal Taylor.
Denise was a devoted wife and mother that loved her family deeply and enjoyed traveling and camping with them. One of her favorite hobbies was sewing. Denise was also an active member for three decades of Concord Baptist Church, where she was a part of the Media Ministry Family and The Vessel of Praise. Denise was born in KCK where she was a saved member of Mt Zion Baptist Church for 18yrs before moving to Boston with her husband. Mt. Zion was her hometown church whenever she visited KCK. She was a spiritual woman. She was loving, kindhearted, and had an infectious laugh. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her.
