Denise Elaine (Fields) Skaggs passed away peacefully the morning of Saturday, March 25, 2023, after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma cancer.
Denise was born in Aurora, Colorado to Floyd E. Fields and Dorothy Jane Walker Fields. She was lovingly referred to as “Niecy” by her father. She was the only sister of Brian Fields, Terrance Fields and Terry Fields.
She was a graduate of Leavenworth Senior High School and continued her education at St. Mary’s University, Leavenworth, Kansas. Denise was a federal employee for most of her adult life, working at Fort Leavenworth Child Development Center and the Dwight D. Eisenhower VA Medical Center, Leavenworth, KS. Denise accepted the Lord as her personal savior at an early age. She was a member of the Independent Baptist Church, Leavenworth, KS and still called it her home church.
Denice was the proud mother of three children with the late Brian Skaggs Sr., daughters; Tamara (Skaggs) Sy, Samantha Skaggs, son; Bryan Skaggs Jr. and grandson Bryan Skaggs III.
She traveled across the globe and when returning from a trip she was eager and ready to plan her next adventure. She also had a passion for singing and music, and with a beautiful voice she sang in various choirs. You could catch her humming or singing as she worked or played.
Denise was preceded by her parents, Floyd E. Fields and Dorothy Jane Walker Fields and brother, Brian Fields.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Tamara (Eladji Belly) Sy, Samantha Skaggs and Bryan (Jessica) Skaggs Jr.; grandson, Bryan Skaggs III and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, family and friends.
