In Loving Memory
Ms. Deborah A. Ross 63, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2019 in her home of Kansas City, Kansas.
Deborah was born June 18, 1956. She was born to Thurman Ross and Beulah M. Westmoreland in Kansas City, Kansas. Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, her grandfather, John Powell, grandmother, Roberta Powell, aunt Evelyn M. Wilson, nephew, Richard Jasper and brother, Richard E. Birt III.
She attended and graduated from Wyandotte High School, Class of 1974. She then attended Kansas City Kansas Community College where she received her diploma. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Emporia State University
She worked at Bethany Medical Center as a Dietary Technician and a Physical Therapist from June 1974 – September 1995 before they went out of business. She worked 16 years as a Radiology Secretary for Providence Medical Center. She later worked part-time as a Customer Assistant at JCPenney Outlet from March 2012 – January 2014; as a Para-Professional, Kansas City Kansas School District 500 and as a Custodian for the Kansas City Kansas Community College.
At an early age, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior at Eighth Street Baptist Church. She was a loving daughter, sister and aunt. Her favorite pastime was reading books. She also loved to socialize with residents at her residence of Glenville Towers.
She leaves to cherish the memory of three nieces, LaWanda Renee Rayfus, Lee’s Summit, Missouri; Yolanda “Yogi” Byers, Atlanta, Georgia; and Nacole “Nikki” Jasper, Kansas City, Missouri; one nephew, Richard “Cat” Jamerson, Kansas City, Missouri; a very special cousin, Howard Berry (Georgia), Kansas City, Kansas; a special God-Sister, Jennifer Ross of Kansas City Missouri; great nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
