Life’s Reflection

David Dwain Allen, 58, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2020 at his home in Kansas City, Kansas. He was born on October 18, 1961 in Kansas City, Kansas to Theoplis Allen and Annetta (Cloyd) Allen. David grew up in Kansas City, Kansas. He graduated from F.L. Schlagle High School in Kansas City, Kansas in 1979. After high school he attended Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. In 1982, while a student at Wichita State University, David pledged on the university’s charter line of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.

David worked for the Kansas City, Kansas Board of Public Utilities. He retired in early 2020 after many years of service. David was a talented musician - singer, songwriter, and played multiple instruments with the Tenor and Soprano saxophones being his specialty. He also enjoyed a variety of hobbies with a day of fishing being one of his favorite things to do. He attended Kansas City Kansas Community Church where he served in the Music ministry playing saxophone and singing.

David was preceded in death by his Mother, Annetta Allen and Father, Theoplis Allen.

David is survived by his sister, Angela Marie Allen and a host of relatives.
