Darron Harvey Obituary

Darron's Life Reflections

Darron Jacob Harvey was born December 15, 1990, in Scott City, Kansas to Aaron Harvey and Brenda Cartmill.

Darron and his mother lived in Garden City, Kansas.  He loved to go to the barn, clean the pool, and anything else his grandad was doing.  He spent a lot of time in his grandparents back yard swimming and playing with his cousins. Darron attended preschool at Mrs. Fishback’s, he loved going there and would pout when he had to leave.

Darron and his mother moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma when he was 5 and started school.  In grade school he excelled in academics and was on the Mathletics team.

When he was 9, they moved to Kansas City.  His dad coached him in track and football.  Darron and his cousins qualified for nationals in track.  He had many youth medals for football.  During his 8th grade year, he played GABL Basketball, where his mother coached the team.  The summer between his 8th and 9th grade, he got into skateboarding.  He won several competitions.  In 2005 Darron started high school at Shawnee Mission West where he excelled in football.  Between his junior and senior year, he went to the Under Armour Football Camp and ran the 40 in 4.36 seconds which was the fastest for a running back in the nation.  His senior year Darron was 1st Team All State in football.  He received a football scholarship to attend Butler County Community College in El Dorado, KS the fall after graduating high school in 2009.  He played football for a year and then moved to Garden City and went to work for his uncle at Cartmill Enterprises.  After several years Darron returned to Kansas City and worked for Green Expectations and Top Care Landscaping.

In 2012 Darron gave his life to Christ and was baptized by his great aunt, Judy Sanders and he had his own relationship with God.

Darron loved to listen to music, shoot hoops, and spend time with family.  He never hesitated to tell you he loved you.

Darron will never be alone. God will put his arms around him, hold him close and keep him safe.  You can now see your aunt Barbara, great grandad; and grandma Towns, great grandma Julia; and pop daddy Henry Harvey Sr.; and his Grandma Flo; a host of family and friends waiting to welcome him.

Darron is survived by his mother, Brenda Cartmill; his father, Aaron Harvey; his brother, Dayne Harvey; his grandparents, Deverne, and Billie Cartmill; grandmother, Shelia Harvey; grandfather and step-grandmother, Chester Harvey Sr., and Denise Harvey;  aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
