Darla Michelle Grant

Darla Michelle Grant was born at the Old General Hospital on November 27, 1962 in Kansas City, Missouri to Georgia Addison and Emery Jones.  She attended the Kansas City, Kansas Public School District and obtained her GED through Kansas City Kansas Community College. Proceeding her in death were her grandmother, Mable Fraizer; sister, Lynn Renee Hood; stepmother, Delores Jones; brother, David Ross Jr. and son Jaron Watson.

Darla grew up in the Wyandotte County area a suburb of Kansas City, Kansas. She was employed at Sunshine Biscuit, ultimately retiring after serving 27 years. Darla was humble, and actively prayed for her family. Her bible forever present and filled with notes and markers.  Her love for family was evident as she constantly performed in whatever role was necessary without question. She was constant and had a lasting impact on the lives of many.

On Saturday October 5, 2019, Darla was called home to be with her heavenly Father.  Family and friends surrounded her with lots of love as she began her home going journey.  Darla leaves to cherish her loving memory; husband, Wilford Grant; two sisters, Kimberly Ross; and Tonya Ross; four brothers, George Addison; Steven Ross; Sean Ross; and Robbie Ross; two sons, Tyjuan Watson (Tiffany Brockman); Phillip Watson (Shonda Watson); two daughters, Teneisha Thomas (Vernom Thomas); Carleisha Strauthers; nine step-children, Kendra; Tony; Tisha; Lucious; Nedra; Wilford; Jasmine; Jessica; Jasmyne and Brandon Grant; grandchildren, Philip Watson Jr.; Jaron Watson; Teresa Jones; MaVeisha Addison; Kazia Franklin; JaMazia Franklin; Wilson Brown; Maniya Brown; TyAsia Watson; Iesha Jackson; Vernom Thomas Jr.; Vivion Thomas; VerLiyah Thomas; Vernom Thomas III; two honorary daughters, Tamika Hickman and Tameka Anderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins great-grandchildren and friends.
