Words of Reflection
Delphos L. Foster, Jr. “Buddy”, “Cowboy”
Delphos Leroy Foster, Jr. was born on February 21, 1937, to the parents of Delphos L. and Rose Lee Foster, Sr. in Kansas City, Kansas. He received his education in the Kansas City area, graduating from Sumner High School.
He worked for the City of Overland Park, Kansas, Continental Trailways Bus Service, and retired from Fairbanks and Morse Pump Division.
As a young man Delphos, also known by many as Buddy, had various hobbies including car racing, and building model cars. He never owned a horse, but he loved collecting anything that was related to cowboys; thus, the nickname “Cowboy” came into play. In 1990, he met Ms. Claudia Allen of Kansas City, Missouri. They became engaged and were joined in marriage June 3, 2000.
He accepted Christ at an early age as his personal Savior and loved fellowshipping until his health began to fail him.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Robert Lynne Jones.
Delphos leaves to cherish his memory to his beloved wife, Claudia R. Foster; one brother, Dwight E. Foster; four children, Karen Williams (Henry); Delphos Foster III; Timothy Foster (LaTonya); and Brian Foster; three stepchildren, Torrance Parker, LaQuisha Morrow (Eddie); and Dominic Parker; 19 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives, and friends.
