Life’s Reflection
Cleophis (Mack) McWashington was born on July 21st, 1949 to Oscar McWashington and Smithy (Hawthorne) McWashington in Bonner Springs, Ks. Affectionally, known to as Mack, Mack grew up in Bonner Springs, Kansas and graduated from Bonner Springs High School in 1969.
After graduating from high school, Mack was inducted into the United States Marine Corp in 1969 where he served our country as a Private specializing as a Rifleman. Mack complete one tour of service in the Vietnam War and was decorated with the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/1*, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/device as well as a Rifle Marksman Badge.
Upon his return from Vietnam, Mack married Wendy (Donald) McWashington in 1972. To this union, Mack and Wendy borne three sons Kevin, Barry and Lonnie McWashington. Mack also had a daughter, Marvina Campbell who was loving embraced by their union.
Mack worked in the Kansas City community for many years as a tradesman and eventually started his own business as a real estate investor.
Mack loved life, laughter and the camaraderie of family and close friends. Mack rededicated his life to Christ and realized the value of family. Mack used his gifts bring joy to those around him and to build a legacy to his children, grandchildren for generations to come.
Mack was strong and determined to live life at is fullest. Cleophis (Mack) McWashington transitioned on September 25, 2019 at North Kansas City Hospice in North Kansas City, Missouri.
Cleophis (Mack) was predeceased by, Oscar McWashington (father), Smithy (Hawthorne) McWashington (mother), Willie Louise McWashington (sister), Oscar McWashington, Jr. (brother), Lonnie McWashington (brother), Barry McWashington (son).
Cleophis is survived by his children: Kevin (Carmen) McWashington, Marvina Campbell, Lonnie McWashington; grandchildren: Elijah (Danielle) McWashington, Matthew (Brie) Locklear, Samira McWashington, and Osias McWashington and great-grandchild: Kendrick Eugene McWashington.
