Life's Reflection

Clarence Isaac Robinson, 77, passed away on September 9th, 2022, with his loving wife, Maggie, by his side.

Clarence was born July 31st, 1945, in Parsons, Kansas to Isaac and Virginia (Tobler) Robinson. Clarence graduated from Sumner High School in Kansas City, Kansas in the class of 1964. After high school, Clarence enlisted in the United States Army in 1965 and serve two years. His tour of duties took him to Paris, France, and Germany. He was discharged honorable in 1967 as PFC E3 rank.

 Clarence started to work for General Motors in 1968 as an assembly line employee. He completed and approved course-training in Grievance Handlers and Bargaining Representative workshop. He was awarded a certificate from the UAW Leadership Training Institute on July 19, 1977. He also relocated to Warren, Ohio GM Plant for four years. He worked sometimes at the Kansas City, Missouri Leeds Plant. After 39 years working, he retired in 2007. Clarence worked part time at the Kansas City Star; driver for Share A Ride for patient transportation to doctor appointment; working for NPB Company Inc. Event Staffing. He would often say “That’s the easiest money I ever made for doing nothing”. He was so serious and enjoyed those hours worked. Clarence attended Kansas City, Kansas Community Junior College and satisfactorily completed an Associate in Arts degree with rights privileges honors in May 1975.

 Clarence met Maggie Lee Leveringston in Kansas City, Kansas. They married January 1970 at her family home in Kansas City, Kansas. One son was born to this union, Shon Antonio Robinson. Clarence became stepfather to Maggie’s sons, Robert Johnson, and Kenneth Leveringston. Maggie became stepmother to Clarence’s son, Herbert Robinson. Their marriage of 52 years thru life. He was a great provider and protector.

Clarence was initiated in Prudence Lodge #6 and was passionate about his fraternal involvement. He was highly respected and held many positions and associations including Thirty-Third Degree Mason, Honorary member of the United Supreme Council, and Past Grand Master Prince Hall Grand Lodge #6 in 1982. He served Grand Master from 2005 to 2007. Clarence received a certificate for proficiency as Entered Apprentice; a diploma for suitable proficiency Master Mason on May 19, 1985. Clarence served in The Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Northern Jurisdiction as Orien Consistory #19; He was then elevated to Subline Prince on September 24, 1983. He became the Thirty-Third Degree Mason on May 26, 2003. A certificate of appreciation The Right Worshipful Senior Grand Warden for contribution and dedication in June 2001, Past Potentate Koran Temple #33. His certificate and diploma were from the Fred J. Lee Sr. Masonic School of Instruction, Kansas City, Kansas. Clarence is preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law, Laura Mae Leveringston; his favorite aunt, Laura Warren; recent passing of his brother-in-law, Donald Davis.

 Clarence is survived by his wife of 52 years, Maggie Robinson Kansas City, Kansas; children, Shon Robinson (Jennifer) Pittsburg, Kansas; Herbert Robinson Wichita, Kansas; Robert Johnson and Kenneth Leveringston Dallas, Texas; brothers, George Robinson and Alphonso Robinson Kansas City, Kansas; sisters, Zella Davis and Sheryl Carvin Kansas City, Kansas; his very special cousin, Earlene Garrett; sisters-in-laws, Bernice Carroll Columbus “Freda” Leveringston, Jr., Vicky Lane, Arlene Holmes, Clara Milton and Laronda Leveringston Kansas City, Kansas; sister-in-law, Laura Crockett Leavenworth, Kansas; eight granddaughters; and three grandsons; ten great grandchildren; his special uncle, Joe Union Sr. and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
