Reflections of Life
Charlie Johnson was born on July 16, 1940, in Sharon, Mississippi, to the late Charlie and Geneva Johnson. He is preceded in death by his parents and three sisters: Angie Hawkins, Zaddie Mae Archie, and Mary Ann Ellis.
His beloved grandmother, a midwife, assisted with his birth. His grandparents, John and Florida Edmond, loved their sweet grandson and willingly raised him after the untimely death of his mother. He was affectionately known to all as "Mook."
Charlie was educated in the Madison County School System. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Pleasant Green Baptist Church in Sharon, Mississippi.
He was united in holy matrimony to Dorothy Johnson for 50 years. He joined Bethel Baptist Church, where he proudly served with the Ushers Ministry.
Charlie loved his family and cherished visiting Mississippi to spend time with his nieces, nephews, and cousins. He often spoke about the good food and especially enjoyed the fish and his niece's homemade cakes.
The Spirit of the Lord visited Charlie on June 29, 2025, at 12:50 PM and escorted him from time into eternity.
Charlie leaves to cherish his memories a devoted and loving wife, Dorothy; children, Clemisha Johnson, Semisha Johnson, and Benjamin Johnson (California); a supportive aunt, Jerri Phillips (Kansas City, Kansas); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
