Carolyn Johnson Obituary

Carolyn J. Johnson (affectionately known as Bunnie), born on July 16, 1943, in Steubenville, OH was sent to her eternal home on October 19, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was the beloved daughter of Rosetta Coleman and Calvin Haskins.

Carolyn was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her. We ask that you remember her not for the way her life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Carolyn attended Havre De Grace Consolidated School and later graduated from High School in Fayetteville, NC, class of 1960.

She became a licensed Respiratory Therapist in Cecil County with the Civil Service/VA Program. Carolyn was employed as a Respiratory Therapist for the VA for 20 years. and later retired from Perry Point VA Hospital. Following her initial retirement Carolyn went on to become a Police Communications Officer for the Havre De Grace Police Department. She later returned to government service as a Police Communications Officer for the Aberdeen Proving Ground Miliary Police Force.  After retiring for a second time, Carolyn lived a peaceful life first in Havre De Grace and later in Kansas City, Missouri in her final years. For a brief time, Carolyn worked as a home health aide. Spreading her sunshine to those in need.

Carolyn is survived by two daughters, Rochelle Spain of Baltimore, MD., Arvella Collins of Columbia, MD. and, three sons, Larry Clayton of Kansas City Missouri, Kevin Clayton of Elkton, MD and Shedrick Willis of Edgewood, MD.; and (11) grandchildren, Tiffany, Nadria, Kaylah, Larry, Lamar, Tony, Jalen, Torry, Faith, Charity & Rayven; (10) great-grandchildren, and (3) great-great grandchildren.

Although Carolyns's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May her memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth her legacy of love and compassion in all that we do.

While you find peace with Christ above, dear Carolyn, your light will forever shine brightly in our hearts.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7–8
