Life’s Reflection
Carlameta Louise Jordan Anderson was born February 4, 1939, in Kansas City, Kansas to Walter and Beatrice Williams Jordan. Carla grew up in Kansas City, Kansas and graduated from Sumner High School in Kansas City, Kansas in 1957. After high school Carla attended Baker University in Baldwin, Kansas, Donnelly College in Kansas City, Kansas, and Friends University in Wichita, Kansas where she received a Master’s in Human Resource Management. She began work for Western Electric (AT&T) as an Office Worker, working for 23 years ended her career in the engineering Department as a manger. She also taught at Maple Woods and Longview College teaching Management Courses.
Carla was a lifetime member of the NAACP and as a member of First Baptist Church she was involved in the Mission Board and Usher Board. Carla enjoyed cooking, traveling, and entertaining at her home.
Carmaeta married Joe C. Miller, and to that union one child was born Marcia Miller. That union was dissolved and Carlameta married Dunbar Anderson Jr. in 1959. They were happily married for 55 years, until Dunbar’s death in 2015.
Carlameta Louise Jordan Anderson 83 passed away on March 17, 2022, at Overland Park Regional Hospital in Overland Park, Kansas. She was preceded in death by parents, Walter; and Beatrice Williams Jordan; sister, Velsie E. Lewis; grandson, Jordan N. Miller.
Left to cherish Carlameta memory her daughter, Marcia Miller of Marietta, Georgia; her sibling, Rev. Dr. F. L. Jordan (Carolyn); Bobbie Toldon of Oakland, California; and Carolyn Eagles of San Leandro, California; her great-grandchild, Ava Kelley.
