Brenda Caldwell Obituary

Life’s Reflection

Brenda Ruth Caldwell blessed the earth with her presence on March 16, 1944 in Kansas City, Kansas to Henry Caldwell and Lucille Singleton.  She returned to her heavenly home on September 11, 2019.  Brenda accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and attended Grant Chapel A.M.E. Church of Kansas City, Kansas.

Brenda loved her family and friends.  She enjoyed playing games with the children in the family, coloring, dressing her baby dolls, watching cartoons, bowling, dancing and listening to music.  Brenda enjoyed getting dressed up and going out.  Whenever she would get dressed up, she would pose and model in her new outfits.  Brenda had many gifts such as singing her favorite church song, “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands”.  She was always at peace and her spirit was full of joy.  Brenda’s benevolence truly inspired others.

After the passing of Brenda’s mother Lucille Singleton, she was nurtured and well-kept by her sisters.  A conversation with Brenda would mostly be about how much she adored her caring sisters.  She always spoke highly of her sisters and cherished spending time with them.  She attended adult daycare for almost 20 years where she made new friends and attended many outings.  God’s grace granted Brenda many years beyond the doctor’s expectations.  She defied the odds and well accomplished her purpose on earth by touching the lives of others in her own special way.

Brenda was preceded in death by her father Henry Caldwell; her mother, Lucille Singleton; sisters, Carmenia Jones; Ora Mae Singleton and Jennifer S. Anderson; brothers, Earl Singleton Jr.; Delbert Caldwell; Rodney Caldwell and Leon Caldwell; nieces, Voncille Singleton and Jacqueline Williamson; nephew, Marvin Wren.

Brenda leaves to cherish her memory her sisters, JoeAnn Favors; Barbara G. Bess (Lemuel, Sr.); Phyllis Shepard; Mable Lee and Lavador Williams; and all of her favorite nieces that she loved so dearly, Deborah Gatson, Sheila Gutto, Regina Waller, Stephanie Cabe, Angela Diane King, Martha Singleton, Vicki Lynn Jones, Lisa White, JoAnn Cotton, Carmen Hunter and Melva Sue Nichols; nephews, cousins and friends.
