May was born on October 22, 1957, in Warrensburg, MO. She was the 3rd and youngest child born to Angeline Briscoe and George Briscoe Sr. Her early childhood was spent in rural Holden, MO. She attended grade school in Centerview, MO and Jr. Highschool in Warrensburg, MO and Olathe, KS. May graduated in 1976 from Olathe North H.S., Olathe, KS.
While in Jr. High School, May became a cheerleader for the Kansas City Chiefs from 1974-1977 along with her sister, Lanita. She was the youngest to have tried out and make the squad in 1974. She made many long lasting friendships on and off the field.
May worked many jobs upon completing high school. She worked as a bank teller for a local band and part-time as a bartender and mixologist. She later went on to work many years for Gates and Sons BBQ as a dining room hostess. She attended Penn Valley Community College and received a diploma to be a home health aid monitor. She worked as a drug program monitor for Renaissance West drug treatment facility and later a home health aide monitor for Help at Home. May took an early retirement in 2021 when her health started failing.
Although May never married, she was still blessed with three sons: Jeremy L. Briscoe Sr., and twins, Samuel and Emmanuel Wigfall. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Angeline Briscoe, and her son, Jeremy Briscoe.
May dedicated her life to Christ in 2010 and was a faithful member of Bridge of Hope Community Church in Kansas City, KS. She enjoyed and loved her church family and served in the hospitality ministry. She loved to bake cakes and serve in the kitchen preparing wonderful meals for church functions and fellowships. She loved the Lord and was loved and respected by many. She held her family and friends close to her heart and prayed for them constantly. She had a peaceful and loving spirit, always prepared to help someone in time of need. She will be missed by her family and many friends.
