Audrey Robinson Obituary

Audrey Mae Holloway Robinson was the middle of three children born to Green Holloway and Artelia (Jennings) Holloway on June 19, 1934, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana.  Her brother Edward Holloway was the eldest and Jessie Holloway Drew, the baby.   Audrey was educated in the Independence Public School System and while attending high school, she played basketball and brought home the winning trophy.

Audrey married Johnnie Robinson in 1955 and they were married until his passing. She continued to raise her children, Alton, Stanley, Jerald, Alvin, Johnnie, Patricia, Glenda, and Kim.

Audrey was an entrepreneur and busied herself with various endeavors.  She was employed by Sanderson Farms, purchased, and ran a lounge and was also a Nanny. She worked on these various ventures for over 60 years.

Audrey loved to dress and had a very large collection of clothes, shoes, and purses. She enjoyed taking care of her grand-babies (she loved her babies) and cooking for her family and friends.  Audrey enjoyed entertaining and would prepare a meal for anyone who stopped by to visit.  If  you left Audrey's house hungry, it was by choice.

Audrey believed in God and was baptized as a child, at a young age, while attending Mt Calvary Baptist Church. She was a loyal and steadfast member for over 69 years.

In 2018, Audrey relocated to Kansas City, Kansas to live with her daughter, Patricia Bell, living there until she transitioned to be with the Lord on April 3, 2023.

She was preceded in death by her husband Johnnie Robinson, father Green Holloway, mother Artelia Holloway, brother Edward Holloway, son Alvin Robinson, granddaughter Samantha Johnson and grandson Christian Danel Bellazen.
